Chris Thomas is a director born from Welsh heritage and raised across many parts of the UK. Known mostly for his character-focused emotive tales and often sub-culture themes, Chris has always had an interest in storytelling.
Chris graduated from the University of the Creative Arts, Farnham, where he studied BA Film Production. His graduation film 'The Water's Edge' screened at numerous film festivals across the globe and picked up a selection of awards including best film at 'Festival du Cinéma Britannique’.
Soon after university, Chris worked at the production company Smuggler where he directed commercials for clients such as the BBC, BT Sports, BBC Earth and the Silverline. Meanwhile in 2016 Chris made the film ‘Cropped’ a comedy about a group of UFO enthusiasts. Cropped went on to win best-comedy at the BAFTA recognised festival 'The Smalls’ in addition to screening across many other international festivals such as the London Short Film Festival, Berlinale and the Aesthetica film festival. Chris followed up with the award winning ‘Land of Steel’ and his most recent short ‘Let’s Roll’ that’s premiering at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2019.
You can find Chris chasing storms in Tornado Alley, running after Cheese in Gloucestershire, or just having a cup of tea while working towards his first feature film in East London.
